Having decided that you want to join the thousands who are turning to the Internet as the solution to their financial and maybe even social problems, how are you even to be noticed among this avalanche of people? Well I am going to share with you 3 helpful tips which I believe can help you get the exposure you will need.
Tip #1. Websites & Domain names. You need a home on The Web.
I guess you might have realised by now that if you are going to establish a presence on the Internet, you will need a base. This is ideally your space, your crib, your home. This is where you hang out, entertain, inform, whatever you care to do. This is your home. It is your central point of operations from where you will reach out to your targeted audience dependent on the niche you decide to explore. Simply put, I am talking about a Website. There are a number of services which allow you to build free websites, but in the end you will have to upgrade to have your unique domain name in place as well as to unlock other features associated with the website. These sites Weebly.com, Wix.com, Wordpress.org are a few of the free website builders at your disposal .
Websites serve a number of purposes, the main one being they serve as your unique place on the world wide web and as such along with the website, you will need a website name or Domain Name as commonly called ,where your audience can find you. So the website and domain name go hand in hand. If you are using a FREE service as I am here to build your site, I advise also ensuring that if the Domain name you have in mind for your site is available , then without delay , buy the domain immediately. In this way, when you have completed the website to your satisfaction, you can then transfer the domain name and you are all set. GoDaddy.com is my preferred place for securing domain names. Domain names are always in demand as suggested by the pic below, and sometimes people will want to buy your domain name from you if it is a name they resonate with but were too late to acquire. The most popular domain name prefix is .com. Others available are:- .info, .org, .net, .us, .biz, and the list goes on. Tip #2. You need A Social Media Presence.
If there was ever a platform that would ensure your presence on the web is felt, it's Social Media. Even if you are the type that likes to go it alone, you need to have a following. You need to be part of a community. Social Media connects you in a way that is explosive and once handled properly can be a powerhouse for your online presence in a way that many across the globe are now beginning to realize.
Now even though you do need to have a Social Media outlet as part of your ensemble to getting as visible as possible, not all platforms are created equal. What do I mean? Well we know Facebook can get us in front of millions of viewers, but even with this vast reach, in recent times, other social networks have been steadily gaining ground with some now even becoming more popular than Facebook among the masses.
I will mention a couple of the more likely ones you may consider to be affiliated with, but I'll also mention the ones I like to call the sleepers. Sleepers for me are the ones that not enough attention was initially being paid to, despite the pull and reach that they have, but are now getting noticed and acknowledged for the potential they have to bring success for their users. Better yet, If I just mention my Sleepers as you will see in the pic below, you will get my drift. Pinterest, Instagram and SnapChat are not only gaining ground, but are the most go to social media platform being used today. If you are going to be seen, heard and noticed you need to get on Social Media. PERIOD!!! Tip #3. You Need A Blog.
You guessed it. Tip #3 is that you will need a blog. Whether your business is retail or offline & you are seeking to establish a presence online, besides having an impressive looking Website, a catchy Domain Name, and being part of the most widely used and popular social media platform, you still will need to have a voice on the Internet that tells people who you are, what you are about, what you do and what you are offering. You can demonstrate all this effectively through your BLOG.
A Blog is essential in this day and era of business we occupy, because as your business grows and experiences change, so too can that be related in your Blog, so your subscribers /customers are always kept up to date with your services, products and offers thus maintaining your credibility and authority in the niche you occupy. A Blog properly maintained and presented can also be monetized to bring you monthly revenue as persons are directed to promotions you advertise on your blog as well as the actually products you sell. Blogs can be used to review items and bring awareness to products and services you offer. Remember the idea is to establish a presence on the Internet where you have a home (website), a name (domain) people know, a following (social media) who can communicate with and contact you at will & finally a voice / mouthpiece (blog) where you can give your own spin, opinion and call to action to build your brand, and ultimately take your business to the level you desire.
So there you have my 3 Tips to getting your business in the spotlight. Just to recap, they are:-
1. Website / Domain = Your Home and Brand. 2. Social Media Platforms = Your Community / Followers / Relationships. 3. Blog = Your Voice & Advertiser to the masses exposing you, your craft, products & services . I do hope this post has been helpful and informative in assisting you towards getting started and becoming a presence on the worldwide web. Feel free to share.

Most people I know are barely able to make ends meet. They are living from paycheck to paycheck and this is taking place all over the world. Occasionally I would be asked, "Dave, what are you doing to get over this economic hurdle?" To which I would reply giving them my solution, only then to later find myself asking them a more pertinent question. What are you afraid of?
Have you ever been faced with this question in your life? I am sure you have but maybe not in the same context as I am asking now. We all have fears. Some are justifiable, while the majority are not. They are often things that we have obsessed on so much that they have become larger in our subconscious than they really ought to be. So if you are like the people seeking advice to get over the economic hump, but still straddling the fence, I too will pose the question to you. What are you afraid of? To be fair I should add that change is never easy for anyone, especially if it takes you onto unfamiliar territory. But then, if that is the case, shouldn't the person you asked advice or direction of be one who has got your best interest at heart? Wouldn't that person be one who would have traveled the road before you, is familiar with the twists and turns and knows how to arrive safely at the destination you now seek? If all you can say is "YES", then again I must ask you, "What are you afraid of?" 1.Leaving Your Comfort Zone
Comfort Zone - A place or situation where one feels safe or at ease and without stress.
Most people often live or are content to exist within their tiny space or bubble known as their comfort zone. It is as the meaning above suggests. It is their place of peace, where they feel safe, but it does not however offer them the lifestyle they seek that would bring them more fulfillment or deeper happiness. No for them to achieve this, then they would have to leave the comfort zone. But then I must ask return to my question again as this baffles me . If as the studies show, that when anyone decides to leave their comfort zone, they then often meet success and the goals they had long desired, why then are people so afraid to step out . What are they afraid of? Leaving one's comfort zone requires giving up some level of comfort or security. In other words, one becomes exposed and vulnerable. Sadly so many end up in despair because they did not want to experience some discomfort. Anything worth having or going after will require you going through discomfort, but in the end is well worth it. But you have to leave the cave. So make up in your mind that if you are going to achieve any kind of Success, you have got to leave your comfort zone. Once you have carefully explored all the options for success and all your bases are covered then you need not remain bottled up waiting for your moment to arrive, cause it's not going to unless you take the necessary action. So the comfort zone has got to go. Leave it right now!. It's no more! Gone! So tell me, What are you still afraid of? 2.Fear Of Failure
Failure has been given the following meaning or expression. " The omission of occurrence or performance; specifically : a failing to perform a duty or expected action
In other words, when you fail to take action of any sort, then you can be sure you are heading down the road to failure. If this is the case, then in contrast by taking action and not getting the desired results is not necessarily looked upon as failure. It is when you have been seen to stop trying or have ceased to take action that you are then perceived as having failed. You can make mistake after mistake, but once you keep going, your mistakes are seen as stepping stones to success.
In other words, you learn from your mistakes and in so doing, how can you see yourself as having failed? It is a learning experience. So when framed in the right perspective, you would soon realize that the fear of failure will only be paramount if you give consent to yourself seeing failure as the end of the road rather than allowing yourself to see it as part of the road to success. When presented like this one has to ask, "what are you afraid of?" Why be afraid when all you are doing is going through a stage of learning. Failure is Success if we learn from it. What are you afraid of?
3.Achieving Success by Having The Right Mindset
SUCCESS - the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. the attainment of popularity or profit. a person or thing that achieves desired aims or attains prosperity.
Now believe it or not, the final area of concern I shall touch on which also is something that a lot of marketers seem to be afraid of is Success. Well to be honest Success is only a very small part of it and the only reason it's mentioned at all is because it is closely related to or borne out of one's mindset. If we take the definition of success as recorded above, then success first can only be achieved if one has a purpose or aim to be successful and attains those desired goals. Of course this can only be done when one realizes that he or she must first leave their comfort zone. Look at the photo below as a way of refreshing your memory. When you are prepared to leave your comfort zone, what happens? Yes, success is achieved.
So what has really happened here? There would have to be a mindset shift taking place to have propelled the person into action mode for them to have moved out of the comfort zone to where they can now achieve success. But wait, success is not necessarily an overnight prescription waiting to be filled and experienced just like that. Sometimes the road to success is filled with learning curves called failures and again it is how we perceive these humps in the road that determines ultimately whether we arrive at the final destination. Success Avenue.
So the third area of concern that sparks the question "what are you afraid of" is associated with achieving success and possessing the correct mindset to ensure that the plan or journey needed to achieve the success in the first place begins with the individual seeking the said goal. Note that all of the concerns are born out of some mental disposition as to what is truly necessary and as a consequence, inevitably fear steps in. But all that is needed is for one to change one's way of looking at things.
If you are going to experience success in your online business or any business for that matter you need to be 1. Not afraid to step out of your comfort zone, secondly 2. You need to be not afraid to fail as this increases learning, experience, and actually brings you closer to success. Thirdly, 3. You need to be not afraid of not achieving success because the mindset required to conquer your first and second concerns will also conquer your third and final concern. You have arrived. A positive and correctly functioning mindset will easily take you through all the above steps safely to Success. Whatever The Mind Can Conceive And Believe, The Mind Can Achieve
